After the shock axing of the WRC programme such as Audi Sport. The Volkswagen Motorsport has announced that it is focusing on the important future technologies. The Volkswagen Group has decided to quit the Word Rally Championship and LMP1 endurance Racing.

It is a young scene that may show some chances in the coming years. Now it is too early to take a decision on the matter. Earlier this year, the Volkswagen has expressed its interest in the Rallycross electric Championship. It is a series which has been announced by RedBull.

Frank Welsch is the board of management responsible for technical development. He said along with the expansion in the electrification, they should focus on the important future technologies. They are realigning Volkswagen Motorsport and moving the future vehicle technology more starkly into focus. At the Wales Rally GB 2016 the German automotive manufacturer has wrapped up the fourth WRC manufacturers title.

It confirmed that the Volkswagen is the most dominant force in the rallying history. It won 42 rallies out of 51 entries. The Red Bull Global Rallycross said that it is making a separate electric rallycross for 2018. This announcement was just made after this.
